France: 'He is a dictator' - Hundreds protest against Macron’s pension reform in Lyon

Hundreds of Yellow Vest protesters took to the streets in Lyon on Saturday against French President Emmanuel Macron’s pension reforms and high cost of living.

Footage shows protesters marching through the city centre and chanting as police in riot gear watched from the sidelines.

“The street will win in the end. And that’s all. Macron must withdraw his reform or, I say it, it’s going to be chaos in all of France," a protester said.

“We can not expect anything from that guy. He is a dictator. No matter what, he does not know what he is doing. He didn't change," added a second.

The Macron government’s divisive overhaul to pensions will see the retirement age rise from 62 to 64 by 2030, sparking widespread criticism and calls for industrial action.

According to Prime Minister Borne, the minimum age to be eligible for a full pension will increase gradually by three months every year.
