The Municipality of Baghdad began installing illuminated Christmas decorations in public squares and streets to celebrate the last weeks of the year in several areas of the capital, as seen in footage on Wednesday.
The Mayor of Baghdad, Ammar Musa Kazem, declared that "we extend our congratulations to you with the most beautiful expressions of kindness and love, loaded with our wishes that carried by the arms of philanthropists under the leadership of the government that aims to achieve a distinguished service achievement and that is being implemented by the Baghdad City Council with dedication and sincerity, towards restoring the brightness and radiance of Baghdad and changing its reality and urban landscape", to meet the requirements of the Baghdadi citizen.
Some of the residents of the Iraqi capital, such as Saad Kamel, have been very appreciative of this gesture and wished "that the state will help people in all fields".
