France: 'Ursula, shut up' - Parisians join massive Les Patriotes' anti-NATO rally
Massive rally organised by French political party 'Les Patriotes' (The Patriots) took to the streets of Paris on Saturday demanding among others revising of policy towards NATO and Russia.
Footage shows protesters marching from Place des Victoires in the direction of Place Vauban in the 7th arrondissement. Demonstrators could be seen holding placards reading: 'France must leave NATO', 'Macron impeachment', 'Resistance' and chanting 'Ursula shut up'.
The President of 'Les Patriotes' party Florian Philippot called the 'carnage' current situation in the country with small businesses closing because of the high energy prices.
"We must stop the anti-Russian sanctions, because that does not serve peace there but brings misery here. EDF must be straightened out (electricité de France, public company) we must get out of the European electricity market immediately. All of this has been said for a long time in fact. [What is happening now] It is sabotage, it is also criminal because it puts France on its knees," he stressed.
Philippot claimed 'thousands and thousands' joined the rally while no official figures or comments were released at the time of publication.
