USA: Six people killed in Chesapeake after Walmart worker opened fire

Local authorities confirmed that six people were killed after a worker at a Walmart supermarket opened fire at the store in Chesapeake, Virginia, before turning the gun on himself, on Tuesday.

Footage filmed on Wednesday shows the site of the deadly shooting, with police officers and their vehicles as well as a cordon around the scene. Road blocks stopping traffic entering were visible, plus camera crews filming the aftermath and a selection of flowers, balloons and other tributes to the victims.

The company confirmed on Wednesday that all six victims were also staff at the store. Local media named 31-year-old Andre Bing as the deceased suspect, with Walmart issuing a statement saying he was an 'overnight team lead' and had been employed by them since 2010.

According to police, the shooting took place at 10:16 pm (17:16 GMT) on Tuesday. At least six more people were also injured and remain in hospital
