    Thirty francophone leaders discussed digital technologies and global hot topics on the island of Djerba in Tunisia, where a two-day Summit of Francophone countries took place.

    Western and African leaders also discussed the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

    On the 18th International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) general secretary Louise Mouchikiwabo was unanimously re-elected as head of the organisation from 2023 to 2026. During her speech on Sunday, she stressed that the organisation is waiting to be modernised.

    The International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) was founded in 1970 and had 88 members, including non-Francophone Armenia, Egypt, Moldova, Serbia and the United Arab Emirates.
