
Indonesia: Xi, Biden among world leaders gathering for Day 1 of G20 summit in Bali
World leaders and representatives of G20 delegations arrived at the summit venue in Nusa Dua, Bali on Tuesday, for the official start of the two-day event.
Footage shows US President Joe Biden, Chinese premier Xi Jinping and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov being greeted by Indonesian President Joko Widodo.
Also seen are German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, French leader Emmanuel Macron, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, newly elected Italian PM Giorgia Meloni, Canada’s Justin Trudeau and the UK’s Rishi Sunak.
Macron and UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres are also shown talking, as well as Erdogan, Meloni and the Saudi Arabian delegation.
The leaders of the Group of 20 - 19 countries and the EU, as well as invited guests - gather annually to discuss global economic issues. This year’s talks are expected to focus on soaring inflation and the Ukraine conflict.
