China: Mass testing takes place in Nanning amidst COVID outbreak in neighbouring city
Citizens were seen queuing to take a COVID test, in Nanning city, on Friday, due to an outbreak in another city of Guangxi Province, Beihai.
Volunteers were seen registering the citizens before healthcare workers took their samples.
"You can come here for nucleic acid testing from 7:00 to 10:30 a.m. and from 4:00 to 7:30 p.m," said Caiying Li, a volunteer.
The tests are free for all citizens, who expressed their support for the measure.
"I live near here. The government called on us to do free nucleic acid testing. There is a testing point here, so I came here to do nucleic acid testing," said Huanhuan Li, a citizen.
"This is very good. It is much more convenient than before. The government has set up more than 700 testing sites," she added.
