China: Drone captures peonies blooming in Yuncheng

Drone footage filmed on Thursday captured a field of peonies in full bloom in Liujiaping village, Yuncheng. Footage shows tens of thousands of peony flowers in the Chinese village.

In recent years, the city of Jishan in Shanxi Province has supported farmers to plant large-scale medical herbs, to encourage farmers to increase their income and become rich.

"We are backed by Jiwang mountain, and the geographical conditions are suitable for the cultivation of Chinese herbal medicine. According to the experience we had over the years, the have been successfully farmed are Isatis, Bupleurum, Scutellaria baicalensis, Paeonia lactiflora and so on," Shi Zhifa, former director of Liujiaping village committee, said.

Recently, as peony flowers have blossomed in Liujiaping, which has been attracting many tourists to visit the village for leisure.

"Every summer, all kinds of Chinese herbal medicine flowers are in full bloom, such Isatis, peony flowers and so on, attracting a lot of tourists from around. Farmers grow Chinese herbal medicine, with an average net income of about 3,000 yuan per mu, thus promoting rural development,” Shi Zhifa told.
