Spain: Madrid’s most famous flamenco tablao Villa Rosa reopens after pandemic
Madrid's most famous flamenco tablao Villa Rosa reopened on Tuesday after being permanently closed due to the pandemic.
The footage shows dancers and singers performing their favourite show again, accompanied by cheers and applause from the audience.
"I am dying for the Villa Rosa, I love the Villa Rosa and of course, I missed it: there are many other tablaos that I also like, but to know that they close a tablao like the Villa Rosa makes your soul fall to your feet and that it's open and to go back to it is wonderful," Anabel Moreno, one of the dancers shared.
The famous Villa Rosa was opened in 1911 in Plaza Santa Ana in Madrid and retains its original tiled facade painted with colourful landscapes as well as its unique Arabic and Andalusian style interior decoration.
In its 111-year history, the flamenco temple has hosted some of the flamenco's greatest singers and dancers. Over the years, visitors to the table have included significant international figures in art, economics, politics and culture, like Ernest Hemingway and Ava Gardner.
