Armenian police detained at least 57 people protesting against Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Yerevan on Tuesday.

The demonstrators gathered for the rally near the governmental buildings to demand for Pashinyan’s resignation. The police had earlier cordoned off the area to help Pashinyan enter the building.

Armenia has seen protests since Yerevan and Baku signed a Russian-brokered deal to end fighting in the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh in November last year.

Under the terms of the trilateral agreement a number of Nagorno-Karabakh districts came under Azerbaijani control.
