USA: Big Dog Ranch Rescue offers a big hand to shelters hit by Texas snowstorm
Big Dog Ranch Rescue lent a helping hand and brought supplies to Texas animal shelters on Monday. Shelters were struggling throughout the state after the historic snowstorm led to an energy crisis in Texas.
The non-profit sent trucks packed with food, water, blankets and medical supplies to families and animal shelters that were impacted by the freezing temperatures. Big Dog Ranch Rescue also sent crates to take dogs who were struggling to survive after they were out in the cold all the way to Florida
We got donations, big dog ranch was able to answer the call and we were able to bring over 6,000 lbs (2,722 kg) of dog food, about 60 cases of water and over 5,000 linens, stated Evan Fried of Big Dog Ranch Rescue said.
The organisation is asking for donations in hopes of taking as many supplies as their trucks can carry. All cash donations will be used for gas, supplies and any additional transportation costs. Blankets, dog food, cat food and cases of water can be dropped of at the ranch any day of the week.
