Netherlands: Police investigate suspected arson after fire at Rotterdam amusement park
Rotterdam police were investigating a fire at the city's Plaswijckpark amusement park on Wednesday which is believed to have been caused by an arson.
A video showing a group of young people setting a garbage bag on fire at the park was posted on social media giving the police a lead.
"It's horribly of course that something like this happens, that people do something like that. The police is familiar with this video and they are looking at it to investigate what it is about and whether it was the cause of the fire", said Rotterdam Safety Region spokesperson Daniel de Vos.
The incident took place after four days of violent protests in several Dutch cities against a COVID curfew which came into effect on Saturday.
