Russia: Police search Alexei Navalny’s flat in Moscow
Police raided flats in Moscow believed to be those of jailed opposition figure Alexei Navalny and his wife Julia, on Wednesday. They also searched Navalny's Anti-Corruption Committee offices and TV-studio, according to reports citing his supporters.
Footage shows police officers leaving Navalny’s apparent flat in Moscow’s Maryino district, as well as the building of another flat where his wife Yulia is said to reside, and the TV studio of the ‘Navalny-Live’ channel.
Officials did not confirm the raids, which were reported on by Navalny's allies and media.
Navalny was detained on January 17 upon his return to Russia from Germany, where he spent nearly five months recovering and rehabilitating from an alleged Novichok nerve agent attack.
On January 18 the activist was jailed for 30 days for breaching parole conditions on a suspended sentence from a 2014 embezzlement conviction. His parole review hearing is currently scheduled to take place on January 29. Navalny said the court ruling held inside a police station was a 'mockery.'
