USA: Celebrity items go under the hammer ahead of Grammy Awards to help musicians amid pandemic

Items from BTS, Madonna, Bob Dylan and other artists are going up for auction in Beverly Hills, as seen on Tuesday, to help musicians during the COVID pandemic.

Clothes, instruments, signed pictures, paintings and other items -all donated by the celebrities themselves - will be auctioned on Sunday by Julien's Auction house, as part of the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards week.

"We have about 60 lots going on at the auction this Sunday. Of course, taking the central stage is BTS, those amazing boyband. Seven outfits worn by each of the members in the final scene in that 'Dynamite' video. BTS has an army of fans out there, so popular, so loved. We're selling the item as one lot, estimated in a range from $20,000 to $40,000 ($16,000 to €33,000). And Already we have a global interest in these outfits and people are bidding online," said Martin J. Nolan, executive director of Julien's Auction.

"We have great items from Bob Dylan as well. A beautiful illustration done by Bob Dylan and signed by Bob Dylan, with handwritten lyrics as well," Nolan added.

The money will be donated to MusiCares, a charity that provides support and relief to artists.
