Smitten Ice Cream shop located in the Bay Area of San Francisco is honouring new US Vice President Kamala Harris, with a brand new flavour called 'MVP', as filmed on Friday.

The name stands for 'Madam Vice President', but also for some of the ingredients the ice cream is made from such as malt, vanilla and pecan.

"As a female-founded Bay Area company that makes ice cream for a living, we were just so ecstatic to welcome our country's first-ever female vice president, who is from the Bay Area of California, who also loves ice cream. So, it was just too good to be true and such a heart connection," said Smitten Ice Cream manager, Robyn Sue Fisher.

"So far the flavour has been flying off the shelves. We're barely able to keep up with demand and we've actually sold out at the few stores," she added.

Part of the income from the sale of the ice cream flavour will go to support the 'Home Free' organisation, helping the survivors of domestic violence.
