China: Long queues form in Beijing amid mass COVID testing
A long queue of people waiting to be tested for COVID-19 was seen near a testing centre in Beijing, Friday.
People were seen waiting in front of the building in the Dongzhimen Residential District.
The capital, as well as Shanghai, kicked off mass testing in some of their parts on Friday, as the country is facing what is reported to be the worst COVID-19 outbreak since March last year. Fears are also high that the disease might spread more intensively during the Lunar New Year holiday in mid-February.
China has registered 98,544 cases of the coronavirus with 4,801 deaths related to the disease according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.
