
Argentina: Alberto Fernandez gets Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine
Argentina's President Alberto Fernandez received the Russian COVID-19 Sputnik V vaccine at the Posadas National Hospital in El Palomar, province of Buenos Aires, on Thursday.
Fernandez became the first Latin American president to get vaccinated, on the day the country's health workers began receiving the second dose of the Sputnik vaccine.
Footage shows the president's arrival, as well as the moment he was vaccinated. He can also be seen chatting with healthcare workers.
The COVID-19 vaccination campaign with the Sputnik V shot began on December 29, with a second batch of the vaccine arriving in the country on January 15. The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and the Argentine government agreed on the delivery of 10 million doses of the vaccine to Argentina.
