Russia: Navalny arrives at Moscow region police dept for court hearing *ARCHIVE*

Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny was delivered to the Moscow region Khimky police department on Monday, after a court hearing over his suspended prison sentence took place.

Navalny could seen in police department being escorted by police officers, as well as entering a cell.

On Monday, a local court sentenced Navalny to 30 days in prison, until February 15. He is to be sent to the ‘Matrosskaya tishina’ pre-trial detention facility in Moscow, where he awaits another hearing.

Navalny arrived in Moscow on Sunday evening after spending almost five months in Germany recovering and rehabilitating from an alleged Novichok nerve agent attack.

He was detained at the Sheremetyevo airport upon arrival and taken to Khimki police station where he was tried on Monday and jailed for 30 days for breaching the terms of his suspended prison sentence.
