Four-year-old Lucas from the city of Nantong in China's Jiangsu Province, became an internet sensation after his parents filmed him strolling around in an inflatable spacesuit. Lucas was seen rocking his outfit in the city streets on Sunday.
His parents were not expecting the reaction it got when they posted the video on Douyin, the domestic version of popular video app TikTok.
Lucas' father expressed his surprise at the level of attention it has garnered, "we accidentally posted a video of him in a small spacesuit, which became a big hit on Douyin, and now there are about 350,000 fans." He also made assurances the suit is perfectly comfortable, "many fans say that the spacesuit is stuffy, but it isn't. There is a small machine in it that circulates oxygen, there is no big problem."
The young star's father added that the suit came in handy especially in times when the coronavirus pandemic numbers were high and proved to be useful in low temperatures.
