The Bond fire in California's Silverado Canyon burned more than 7,200 acres with zero containment as of Thursday evening, according to the Orange County Fire Authority (OFCA).
"Right now, the last update was 7,200 acres have been consumed, zero percent containment. We know that a number of houses have been damaged, potentially destroyed," said OCFA Fire Chief Brian Hennessy. "Currently there are 500 firefighters on the fireline made up of 30 plus agencies."
Hennessy also confirmed that the blaze first started as a house fire on Wednesday evening.
"We have packed up and (are) ready to go in case we are called to move," said Silverado Canyon resident Jose.
"If I see any sign of flames coming over I am out in two seconds," said Silverado Canyon resident Erin. "They've been having helicopters fly over all night, they are doing such a good job."
