UK: London residents react to COVID-19 vaccine approval
Residents of London reacted to the UK approving the Pfizer/BioNTech coronavirus vaccine, on Wednesday.
Locals welcomed the news, saying they feel 'happy' and 'excited.'
"I feel very happy. It is interesting that they are the first ones, I'm from the (United) States, so I know there has been a sort of battle between the US and the UK to see who is going to prove it first, so I think yeah it is great, I think it is great," said Rory, a passer-by, adding that it is 'unfortunate' that many Brits remain sceptical on the issue.
Another local, Annalika, said she 'strongly' supports the move and is not afraid of getting vaccinated.
"I mean, it's a good thing, it has been approved. Seeing that most of the tests were done well, as long as this is distributed fairly, I think it's okay," she added.
UK gave an emergency authorisation to Pfizer's vaccine on Wednesday, becoming the first country to pave the way for mass vaccination against COVID-19.
