Gutsy granny lifts weights and squats like a pro at 82
An 82-year old grandmother from Chennai, in India's Tamilnadu State, defied her age showcasing her fitness and aerobics skills, in footage from Sunday.
Kiran Bai injured her ankle when falling out of bed, but luckily for her, her grandson is a gym coach and co-owns a gym.
"My grandma said she wanted to do training with me. She as the one who initiated the idea. Then I reached out to coaches throughout both the US and other European nations and with their help I came up with a training programme," said Chirag Chordia, her grandson.
"So her initial goal was to get down to the floor and back up. She hasn't sat down on the floor in over four to five years and in less than two months of training, now she is able to sit down on the floor and back up on her own with minimal support."
But she can do much more than simply sitting on the floor and getting up, as seen in footage where she performs weighted squats and dead lifts.
"I want to say this to everyone, do workouts regularly, whatever type of workouts you are comfortable doing, do that," Bai said, as she demonstrated her daily workout.
