Germany: Polish, German sceptics hold joint border rally against COVID restrictions
Hundreds of Polish coronavirus sceptics crossed the border on Saturday to join a rally against COVID-19 restrictions in the eastern German town of Frankfurt (Oder).
The protest was organised by the Querdenken 711 ('Lateral Thinking 711' in English) initiative from Duisburg, responsible for many previous demonstrations against COVID measures across Germany.
After Germany experienced record increases in the numbers of coronavirus cases in October, the country entered a partial lockdown on November 2, now extended until December 20.
Poland has faced similar measures from November 4 with cinemas, theatres, galleries and museums closed and restaurants open only for takeaway service.
