Turkey: Volunteers take part in testing China's COVID vaccine in Istanbul
Volunteers were seen being vaccinated at Istanbul's Okmeydani Training and Research Hospital on Friday, taking part in Phase three of the testing of China's vaccine against the coronavirus.
"This vaccine will provide information on whether the disease reduces its transmission or, if it continues to transmit, whether it provides a mild transmission of the disease," said Professor Mustafa Taner Yildirmak.
Thousands of volunteers are expected to take part in Phase three of the study. Earlier it was reported that Turkey signed a contract to buy 50 million doses of the vaccine from China's Sinovac Biotech.
