
Mexico: Cancun residents brace for Hurricane Delta

Cancun residents were seen preparing for the arrival of Hurricane Delta, a Category 4 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson scale, which is expected to carry winds of up to 250 kilometres per hour, Tuesday.
Locals were seen queuing up in front of supermarkets for supplies, boarding up windows with plywood, and removing boats from the shore.
According to reports, Hurricane Delta is expected to arrive south of Puerto Morelos, Quintana de Roo, between 01:00 and 02:00 am. on October 7 (07:00 and 09:00 am GMT.)
Carlos Joaquin Gonzalez, Governor of the State of Quintana de Roo, placed Tulum, Solidaridad, Cozumel, Puerto Morelos, Benito Juarez, Isla Mujeres and Lazaro Cardenas on red alert, and said that starting at 17:00 on Tuesday (22:00 GMT) everyone must remain in their homes.
