Screens in the streets of the two warring sides' capitals - Azerbaijani Baku and Armenian Yerevan, were seen showing news about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Tuesday.

Screens located at the Yerevan’s Freedom Square were seen broadcasting the news and Prime Minister’s Nikol Pashinyan’s statements while ones in Baku showed the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry’s videos with shellings and bombings.

Locals in both capitals mostly positively reacted to the new broadcasting.

"It was good to put this screen here. We watch the news, people come together. [When] something important happens, we find it out straight away. I believe it’s a great idea to get good news. They’ve come out with a really good idea," a Yerevan resident said.

"I like the idea of showing this, these are the achievements of our strong professional army and everybody should know about them. I hope we will celebrate in our lands soon," said Gubad Nuriev from Baku.

Some were worried about the loss of lives in the conflict, "I am now in the Independence Square and watching our tragic news, what is going on in Nagorno-Karabakh, so many casualties, shellings, oh my God…” said Artyom Ambartsumyan fromYerevan.

Fighting in the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh broke out on September 27 when Azeri and ethnic Armenian soldiers exchanged fire. It's been the heaviest clashes in the region since 2016 with dozens of casualties reported. Both sides blame each other for the escalation amid rising casualty figures.
