
USA: Police release body cam footage of Deon Kay shooting *DISTRESSING CONTENT*
The Washington DC Police Department released bodycam footage of the shooting of Deon Kay on Thursday, a day after the 18-year-old man was killed in a police encounter.
In the video, the officer was seen running towards Kay and screaming "Don't move". Kay can be seen brandishing a firearm before the officer shoots him.
Moments later, the officer is seen looking for Kay's gun while reporting to his colleagues present at the scene.
Kay was later transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The handgun of the deceased was recovered by the Department of Forensic Sciences and taken as evidence.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the officer responsible for the shooting had reportedly arrived at the site following a report of armed suspects.
