
Greece: Three new COVID cases at refugee camp in Chios
Authorities have found three new cases of coronavirus in a the Vial refugee camp in the Greek island of Chios, on Tuesday, after a 35-year-old Yemeni refugee and a camp employee had tested positive.
The three cases were found when testing 25 refugees who had been in contact with the Yemeni refugee. All three of them showed no symptoms and were put in quarantine, according to Deputy Regional Public Health Officer Pantelis Vroulis.
Of the camp employee, Vroulis said, "She is in quarantine in her house and she is in good health. We don't know if she contracted COVID from the hotspot or from people in town."
Greece has recorded 7,472 confirmed cases of coronavirus and 232 deaths with the virus since the start of the outbreak, according to Johns Hopkins University.
