      USA: Tensions run high as anti-racism activists face off right-wing protesters

      Tensions ran high between right-wing protesters and anti-racism activists outside Stone Mountain Park near Atlanta on Saturday.

      Right-wing protesters were seen carrying weapons and covering their faces, as some of the counter protesters held signs in support of the Black Lives Matter (BLM) Movement. Verbal confrontations were also taking place during the stand-off.

      The Stone Mountain Confederate Memorial has often been at the centre of debates following calls to remove Confederate monuments and memorials.
