Not much room with a view? Chicago suburb's 'Skinny house' causes internet stir
A house in Deerfield, Illinois, known affectionately as the 'Skinny House' or 'Pie House' due to its eccentric shape, recently gained notoriety on social media after it changed ownership.
The house was shared by a user on popular video app TikTok and garnered over 335,000 likes.
"It's very unusual. It seems to be occupied most of the time. Well taken care of. I've never been inside so I have no idea what it's like in there," said Nicole Gebauer, a resident of Deerfield.
At its thinnest end, the house narrows down to just three feet (91 centimetres), and sold for a reported $260,000 (€220,500) asking price last week. The house was allegedly built to accommodate an unusually small lot that could not fit a traditional home.
