An anti-government protester was filmed in Beirut on Sunday using a tennis racket to launch pieces of stone amid clashes with Lebanese security forces.

Footage also shows a group of protesters assisting a man with a head injury.

Thousands of demonstrators have been voicing their anger at the government which they blame for Tuesday's port explosions.

[CORRECTION: The original title said protesters were using tennis rackets to bat away tear gas canisters. This has been amended to indicate that a tennis racket was used to launch fragments of stone]
