30 km on horseback for a mobile signal: 7-y/o Argentinian takes homework very seriously

Following the closure of schools due to the coronavirus pandemic, seven-year-old La Pampa countryside native Jeremias, had to come with a resourceful way to stay in touch with her teacher and send her his homework: a daily 30 km (18,6 miles) horse ride to a hilltop where he could get a cellphone signal.

Wearing iconic "Gaucho" style clothes, the young boy was filmed at his house in the countryside, around 30 kilometres away from Santa Isabel on Friday, as he finished his homework before getting on his horse friend Peludo.

Accompanied by his father Carlos, both riders galloped towards the hill where Jeremias sent photos of his homework to his teacher.

"We ride the horse for 15 kilometres (each way) to get a signal and be able to send his homework, we do this every other day or every two days," explained Carlos.

"I go to the hill and I take a photo of the homework and I send it to my teacher," said the little Jeremias.

According to reports, Jeremias’ story went viral because of her teacher, who decided to share his story with the world, showing the efforts some children in the countryside have to make to keep up with classes when they do not have easy access to the internet.
