USA: McGregor ‘happy’ with 40-second TKO victory over Cerrone
Conor McGregor was in belligerent mood at the press conference that followed his first-round TKO UFC 246 victory over Donald Cerrone in Las Vegas on Sunday.
"I'm happy that it was clean enough, you know what I mean," said McGregor.
"I'm happy the way it ended, there was a couple of shoulder smacks; the foot clattered him in the head and shocked him and then the backhand put him down," he stated.
McGregor won his comeback fight in just 40 seconds, knocking down American Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone with a series of blows that forced referee Herb Dean to call off the fight within the first round.
UFC president Dana White also spoke at the press conference, touting the possibility of a McGregor-Khabib Nurmagomedov re-match. "I think that the Khabib-Conor fight, you know, could be done anywhere," he stated.
"Bib' doesn't turn down fights, that's just not his style. He hates Conor McGregor and Conor McGregor hates him," he added.
