Drone footage captured the aftermath of a 6.8 magnitude earthquake which killed at least five people in the southern Filipino city of Padada on Monday.

Firefighters, police, volunteers as well as the army are trying to locate survivors and victims in the rubble after the fifth powerful quake to shake the region since October. A total of 84 people were injured according to officials. At least five people are feared to be trapped in a collapsed shopping centre.

One of the victims was a six-year-old girl who was in her family's home when it collapsed.

Located in the Pacific Circle of Fire, the Philippines often suffer from earthquakes. Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte, who has been criticised for not visiting areas affected by quakes in recent months, was in his Davao home near the epicentre. He is safe according to a statement from the presidential palace.
