
Chile: Family members of missing crew arrive in Punta Arenas as search continues
Family members of the crew of C-130 Hercules transport aircraft, which went missing en route to Antarctica on Monday, arrived in Magallanes' Punta Arenas to follow the search of the aircraft on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the search for the aircraft carrying 38 people from Chile to Antarctica continues out of the southern Chilean city. The United States, Argentina and Uruguay joined the efforts on Tuesday, one day after the military aircraft lost contact.
Wednesday, authorities said that the search area will be extended in four quadrants of 240 km² each, covering a total search of 960 km².
