Dozens of people joined a Rohingya solidarity rally outside the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague on Tuesday, as the ICJ kicked off its first hearings on Gambia's case against Myanmar over accusations of genocide.
The rally was organised by ERC and Myanmar Muslim Association Netherlands (MMAN).
European Rohingya Council (ERC) Chairperson, Hla Kyaw, expressed support for Gambia and its case "against Myanmar's genocide against Rohingya people."
"We want justice for genocide, and we want our rights of one of the ethnic minorities in Myanmar," added Kyaw.
The Nobel Peace Prize winner and once a champion for human rights Myanmar State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi attended Tuesday's hearing at the ICJ, representing Myanmar, in a move which has been widely criticised.
Gambia is seeking provisional measures to protect the rights of Rohingya people under the 1948 UN Genocide Convention.
