Spain: Zidane 'already in love' with 'rival' Mbappe ahead of PSG clash
Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane professed his love for Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe during a press conference in Madrid on Monday, ahead of the clash between two teams.
"I'm already in love with him, first as a person, because he came here to take a test a long time ago, so it is not the first time," said Zidane making a point of adding: "Well, he is the rival."
Real's goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois touched on the controversy surrounding teammate Gareth Bale, who is from Wales and celebrated the Welsh national team's qualification for the Euro 2020 with a flag reading "Wales. Golf. Madrid. In that order."
"I know Gareth, I see him every day, he is 100 per cent involved every single day," Courtois said, adding the flag was "a small mistake" that was blown out of proportion.
Before addressing the press, Zidane and the team held a training session in preparation for the PSG clash. Teams will face each other on Tuesday at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium in Madrid for the fifth round of the Champions’ League group stage. In the first clash, PSG won 3-0 at the Parc des Princes, in Paris.
