USA: Volkswagen showcases new ID Space Vizzion Concept in LA car show

German carmaker Volkswagen showcased its newest electric concept ID Space Vizzion SUV at Los Angeles' Automobility 2019 car show on Wednesday.

"ID Space Vizzion is our seventh ID vehicle, that we have shown. This one, in particular, is a crossover wagon that means to include, to combine intelligent use of space with aerodynamics," said Volkswagen's E-mobility Vice President Matthew Renna.

The electric concept car has been announced to have a 300 miles (483 Kilometres) range, achieved with a low-slung roofline and an emphasis on aerodynamics, it can seat between four and five people and boosts the equivalent storage space of other SUVs.

Much of the futuristic Space Vizzion interior is made of recycled or recyclable material such as faux leather made in part from the leftover pulp of apple juice production and is set to go into production and be on sale in 2021.

Taking place right before the LA Auto Show, AutoMobility LA 2019 concludes on November 21.
