Israel: We will hit back at anyone threatening us, warns Netanyahu
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Israel will hit back at anyone targeting them, during a briefing in Tel Aviv on Tuesday. His remarks came hours after the country was hit by dozens of rockets from the Gaza Strip, in response to the assassination of Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) field commander Baha Abu Al-Atta, early in the morning.
Israel Air Force struck a home in Gaza Strip, killing Al-Atta Atta during a planned raid. Al-Atta, the head of the Al-Quds Brigades in Gaza, the armed wing of the PIJ, allegedly carried out rocket attacks against Israel in recent months and was suspected of planning further acts.
According to reports, another top PIJ commander, Akram al-Ajouri, was killed in another Israeli airstrike carried overnight in Damascus.
