Bahamas: 'Miracle' dog found alive after month trapped under Hurricane Dorian debris
A dog was found alive after over three weeks buried under debris left in the wake of Hurricane Dorian, in Marsh Harbour, Bahamas, on Friday.
The one-year-old puppy was found by rescuers using a drone with infrared equipment and subsequently named Miracle.
Miracle was flown to Florida for medical treatment and the group that found him have said he will put up for adoption once he recovers fully, unless his owners come forward to claim him.
Hurricane Dorian, a category 5 hurricane with sustained winds over 295 km/h (185 mph), made landfall in the Bahamas on September 1 and caused significant damage. At least 50 people were killed and 1,300 more remain unaccounted for following the hurricane, while thousands more have been left homeless.
