Diamonds are together! See first ever diamond trapped INSIDE second diamond
A diamond trapped inside another diamond was unearthed by Alrosa mining company workers in Siberia, Russia, on Friday. The find is likely to be 800 million years old and is said to be the first ever recorded discovery of its kind.
The diamond duo was discovered by workers during a sorting of stones in Yakutsk but originates from the Nyurba mine in the Sakha Republic.
According to a review by scientists, the so-called ‘Matryoshka’ diamond, so nicknamed for the famed Russian nesting dolls, weighs just 0.62 carats (0.124 grams) and the smaller one inside weighs 0.02 carats (0.004 grams).
