UN: 'We want to rebuild our country' - Syrian FM *EXCLUSIVE* *PARTNER CONTENT*

Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem spoke of the ongoing conflict in Syria, the new constitution, the future of the Idlib region and the Saudi Aramco attacks, during an exclusive interview with RT Arabic on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York City, which was released on Sunday.

Muallem commented on the alleged chemical weapons use in Latakia, that it was "lies to mislead the US and world opinion" and that the lying was "unprecedented."

The Syrian Foreign Minister warned about interference in the drafting of the constitution, saying "each rule of the constitution must be drawn up by the committee" and also warned against "setting a timetable will make the constitutional drafting hasty," adding that "the constitution determines the way of the future for the current and future generation, so we want it to be clear, purposeful and modern."

He welcomed "everyone who will contribute in the reconstruction of Syria. We do not exclude anyone, but only without political conditions" and added that "we want to rebuild our country."

"We are determined to free this region of terrorism, taking into account that we will take notice of the lives of our civilian citizens, but we will liberate them, and there will not be any hot spot left in the Syrian body," stated Muallem, before adding that "since the signing of the Sochi Agreement, [militant group] Jabhat al-Nusra has taken control of 90 percent of land [in the Idlib region]."

Commenting on the recent attacks on Saudi Aramco that, Muallem said "the fruits of bombing Aramco in Saudi Arabia have been harvested by United States, by selling Patriot missiles to Saudi Arabia and the UAE, and by sending American crews to operate those missiles."

The UN General Assembly will take place from September 24 to 30, which the Syrian foreign minister still attending.
