Hundreds of protesters took to the streets of the Libyan capital city of Tripoli on Friday, to protest against the leader of the Libyan National Army (LNA) Khalifa Haftar.

Footage shows protesters chanting, while waving flags as well as signs attacking both Haftar and the UN's special representative for Libya Ghassan Salame.

"The truth is that it is a coup that started in 2014 against the civil state, the state of Libya, and against legitimacy in Libya" said Ahmed, a protester.

"His aggression continued in Benghazi, Darna, Kafuda, Murzug, eastern, and western regions. Aspiring to control Tripoli the capital. He launched an aggression since the 4th of April, besides a military coup against Tripoli the capital" he added.

Haftar, who has been trying to capture Tripoli from the UN-backed Government of National Accord (GNA) since early April, has been met by the resistance of local armed groups who back the GNA.
