
Russia: Okhotnik combat drone conducts joint flight with Su-57
Russia’s Okhotnik combat unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) conducted its first-ever joint flight with a fifth-generation Sukhoi Su-57 jet, as seen from footage released by the Russian Defence Ministry on Friday.
According to the MoD, the two aircraft took off from an undisclosed military airfield in Russia and flew a pre-planned route for more than 30 minutes to validate the Okhotnik’s flight functions and operations with the fighter jet.
The Okhotnik combat drone is designed by the Sukhoi Desing Bureau and is equipped with a jet engine, anti-radar skin coating and can reach speeds up to 1,000 kilometres per hour (600 mph).
