
UN: Iraq's Salih dubs Saudi oil attacks 'dangerous development' at UNGA
Iraqi President Barham Salih referred to the recent attacks on Saudi oil facilities as a "dangerous development" while speaking at the UN General Assembly in New York City on Wednesday.
"We in Iraq are concerned about this development in escalation as our security is linked to the security of the Gulf and the region in general," Salih added.
"Our stance is clear, it is vital that we replace the language of agony and escalation with the language of communication. We believe that our common cause of fighting terrorism and extremism as well as the need for economic progress that could provide job opportunities", he went on.
Leaders from the UN's 193 member states have gathered at the UN's headquarters to discuss international issues relating to development, peace and security, international law, among others.
