
Russia: Test runs begin on Kerch Strait Bridge railway
A group of Russian journalists carried out the first test trip on the railway section of the Kerch Strait Bridge on Tuesday, with the voyage on the self-propelled coach taking around 30 minutes.
The construction of the 19-kilometre (11.8-mile) bridge, the longest in Russia, started in February 2016.
The road of the bridge across the Kerch Strait was opened by Russian President Vladimir Putin opened in May 2018, while the railway crossings are expected to be in operation in December 2019.
