Spain: 'Peter Lim, sell and go!' - Valencia fans vent fury at club owner
Valencia CF fans protested en-masse against club owner Peter Lim and club president Anil Murthy following their decision to dismiss former coach Marcelino Garcia Toral. The crowd gathered outside Mestalla Stadium in Valencia, on Sunday, ahead of their La Liga game against Leganes.
"We simply come for this, to tell you that you are not welcome here because you have shown that the only thing that you come here is to do business. We think that Valencia is a feeling and you can't do business with Valencia," said Tomas Rivera, president of the 'Nord Curve.'
Protesting Valencians were seen holding banner reading "Peter Lim, Sell and go" and "We want Lim to leave" while chanting slogans against the Singaporean club owner.
Lim purchased Valencia CF back in 2014 and currently controls 70 percent of club shares. He appointed Marcelino's assistant Albert Celades as the new head coach following the Spaniard's dismissal.
He also owns 40 percent of English League Two side Salford City.
