
France: At least one dead after fire breaks out in Paris retirement home
At least one person died and two more remain in "critical condition" in Paris on Sunday, after a fire broke out in a retirement home for the dependent elderly (EHPAD) in the 16th arrondissement of the French capital.
According to Paris Fire Brigade Spokesperson Eric Moulin, the two injured women are 96 and 88 years old. Moulin noted that "three more persons were slightly injured, including one firefighter. Seven people were also rescued by the Paris firefighters."
Some 156 firefighters from 20 different fire stations were reportedly deployed to the scene.
