Germany: 'Fridays for Future' activists protest against Frankfurt Motor Show
Dozens of climate activists protested against the ongoing International Motor Show (IAA), in Frankfurt on Friday.
Participants of 'Fridays for Future' movement, including scientists and Extinction Rebellion activists, marched through the city's central streets towards the Messe Frankfurt exhibition centre, holding banners and chanting.
"Cars, especially big cars, as the ones exhibited at the IAA emit a lot of CO2 and are not necessary. What we demand is a fully developed and free OEPNV (public transport) and a car-free city centre," said one of the activists, Clara.
The International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt opened its doors to public on Thursday with German Chancellor Angela Merkel present at the event.
