
USA: Supporters, protesters gather in Houston ahead of Democratic debate
Supporters and protesters alike gathered in front of Houston's Texas Southern University on Thursday, as Democratic candidates arrived for the third Democratic presidential debate.
Footage shows Democratic candidates former Vice President Joe Biden and Senator Beto O'Rourke arriving at the university while being cheered by their supporters. Footage also shows supporters of Andrew Yang and Senator Bernie Sanders.
Anti-abortion protesters, demonstrators defending charter schools and demonstrators calling for slavery reparations were also present in front of the university.
The third Democratic debate took place between Joe Biden, Senator Sanders, Senator Elizabeth Warren, Senator Kamala Harris, Mayor Pete Buttigieg, Beto O'Rourke, Senator Cory Booker, Senator Amy Klobuchar, former HUD Secretary Julian Castro and Andrew Yang.
On Thursday, US President Donald Trump said Biden, Warren and Sanders were the three candidates he regarded as most likely to face him.
